We deliver high‑quality MRI, CT, X‑ray, ultrasound and advanced cancer diagnostics, supported by expert clinical teams and state‑of‑the‑art technology. Founded in 1991, Affidea has grown into a leading pan‑European healthcare network, serving over 10 million patients every year through a multidisciplinary team of more than 9,000 healthcare professionals.

We are now seeking an exceptional Clinic Director to lead our brand‑new Affidea Clinic, currently under construction in Wimbledon. This is a rare opportunity to shape a flagship clinical service from the ground up—driving strategic direction, operational excellence, and a culture centred on patient care and clinical quality.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a clear vision for the clinic in collaboration with the Affidea Leadership Team.

  • Identify strategic growth opportunities, balancing potential benefits with cost implications.

  • Drive service expansion, partnerships and innovation in clinical care.

  • Maintain strong focus on achieving annual goals and aligning daily operations with long-term strategy.

Operational Leadership

  • Provide operational leadership with full profit and loss responsibility, driving profitable growth and market share.

  • Supervise day‑to‑day operations, taking a hands‑on approach to resolving strategic, technical, commercial, and personnel challenges.

  • Ensure alignment with Affidea’s corporate strategy, operational policies, and quality standards.

  • Optimise cost structures and resource allocation to deliver efficient and effective services.

  • Act as senior point of contact for client communications requiring authority and influence.

  • Lead continuous improvements in operational efficiency, processes and business performance.

  • Shape and uphold a culture of clinical excellence, integrity, collaboration and innovation.

  • Build, support and lead the clinic team to achieve organisational goals.

  • Ensure strong decision‑making frameworks and effective communication systems across the clinic.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations, ethical standards and best practice guidelines.

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to maintain strong governance and strategic alignment.

  • Uphold Affidea Group policies, legal requirements, and internal governance standards.

  • Identify and mitigate risks through robust financial and compliance controls.

Business Development

  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial drive by identifying business opportunities and expanding services.

  • Define and deliver activity plans and targets across all segments.

  • Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing teams on tenders, NHS opportunities and partnership growth.

  • Identify and implement new service development plans.

Consultant Management

  • Develop and execute the consultant operating model ensuring alignment with Affidea’s strategic direction.

  • Identify and recruit consultants necessary to achieve business objectives.

  • Maintain strong relationships between consultants and senior clinical leaders.

  • Work with the Chief Commercial Officer to ensure sustainable agreements with PMIs.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of the UK private healthcare landscape, with experience in diagnostic imaging, outpatient services and day‑case surgery.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to drive growth, performance and operational efficiency.

  • In‑depth knowledge of the Private Medical Insurance (PMI) market.

  • Demonstrated skills in process management, project management, integration and change management.

  • Strong analytical capability with an entrepreneurial approach and strong business insight.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • A relevant advanced business degree (e.g., MBA, MHA or equivalent).

Experience

  • Proven track record as a Hospital / Clinic Director or senior operational leader within a hospital or large clinical environment.

  • Experience in the commissioning, operational setup or launch of a new clinical facility.
