Clinical Lead Radiographer

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead Radiographer to join our Imaging leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality imaging services across Fortius Clinic. Working closely with the Head of Imaging, you will provide clinical and operational leadership, support service development, and ensure the highest standards of patient care, quality, governance and radiation protection are maintained across all imaging sites.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

Provide clinical leadership and support across all imaging services.

• Maintain and develop imaging protocols in collaboration with Radiologists.

• Ensure high standards of image quality, patient safety and patient experience.

• Provide expert advice to clinicians, referrers and radiographers.

• Support complex case protocoling and clinical decision-making.

Operational Management

• Support staffing, rota planning and service delivery across sites.

• Monitor service capacity and ensure resources meet patient demand.

• Oversee equipment servicing, quality assurance and maintenance schedules.

• Manage departmental stock and consumables.

Quality & Governance

• Lead on audits, incident investigations and quality improvement initiatives.

• Support compliance with CQC standards, radiation protection requirements and clinical governance frameworks.

• Maintain departmental policies, risk registers and governance records.

• Represent Imaging at governance and quality meetings.

People Management

• Line manage Senior Radiographers.

• Conduct appraisals, one-to-ones and performance reviews.

• Support recruitment, induction, training and staff development.

• Promote staff engagement and wellbeing across the department.

Service Improvement

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across Imaging services.

• Support research, audit and professional development activities.

• Work collaboratively to enhance patient pathways and operational efficiency.

About You

Essential

• HCPC Registered Diagnostic Radiographer.

• Significant post-registration imaging experience.

• Previous leadership or senior radiographer experience.

• Strong understanding of clinical governance, radiation protection and quality standards.

• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Desirable

• MRI experience.

• Leadership or management qualification.

• Experience in service development, audit and quality improvement.

• Knowledge of PACS and imaging IT systems.
